A L.E.G.I.O.N. assault fleet and the last remaining Darkstars (Ferrin Colos, Munchukk & Chaser Bron) pitch in to stop Starbreaker from acquiring Rann's Omega Beam technology. They siphon a considerable amount of power from him, which works, but all three Darkstars are killed. Vril Dox replaces all human operatives with non-sentients.  

The Guardians of the Universe implore Vril Dox to intercept the Omega Men on Earth. The Spider Guild also attack, seeking a powerful universal "Heartstone." Dox calls in Earth's heroes, who mistakenly assume that the Omega Men are the enemy. NOTE: Only artificial L.E.G.I.O.N. operatives appear in this series.

Tigorr reasons with Superman, who ultimately questions Dox's motives. The Omega Men use a Zeta Beam to escape. Behind the scenes, Dox sends artificial silicoid constructs to find the Hearthstone. When found the stone gives life and power to the computer being; it returns to space.

Fighting in space, the Omega Men encounter a Spider Guild ship that has been disabled by a sentient being made of thousands of small energy pods. At first, this colony attacks, but after assembling into a singular form it inquires: "What am I?" Omega Men v.2 #3 (Feb. 2007)

Vril Dox's former creation, the silicoid energy pods, bonds with a cosmic Heartstone. It becomes the sentient, Silica. It bonds emotionally to Dox, demanding that he tell her he loves her. NOTE: Silica is said to embody "the weak nuclear force," a quantum wind.

When the Eternal Light Corp. summons the god, Lord Synnar back to life (#5), deep space heroes band together to stave off a war between he and Lady Styx. Vril Dox becomes involved (#3) and . In the final attempt to destroy Synnar, the Weird causes an explosion that destroys Rann's atmosphere. Rannians relocate to Throneworld and Starman renames the planet New Rann. (#8) NOTES: This series features Dox minimally, focusing on Hawkman, Adam Strange, Starfire, Animal Man, Comet, Starman, Bizarro and Tigorr.

Vril Dox (now called Brainiac 2) is once again deposed as the head of the L.E.G.I.O.N. A bounty is placed on his head, and he flees to Earth from his former operatives: Amon Hakk, Tribulus, Sqwaul and Getorix. He is aided by Supergirl, whose memory contains a secret message from his descendant in the 31st century. The Omega Men also flee from Silica's L.E.G.I.O.N. forces on Lunestus. NOTE: This Brainiac 5 is of Earth-Prime, not Earth-0. Sqwaul resembles Tellus. Hakk is styled to resemble Tyr. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #1 (Apr. 2009)
Brainiac 5 tells Dox that his history cuts off around this point in time. He gives him all the files on the 31st century Legion, to help Dox build his own protective force. Instead of recruiting Supergirl, Dox opts for Tribulus, stealing its control device from Getorix. He next approaches the Omega Men for help. When they refuse, he betrays their position to the L.E.G.I.O.N. Then on Starhaven, he meets Chief Night Sky and recruits Wildstar, a girl with navigational abilities. NOTE: Skwaul is from Hepvestus; Getorix of Zaron. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #2 (May 2009)
Dox transforms Wildstar into a being of pure energy, and places her in a containment suit. They go to Cairn, where L.E.G.I.O.N. has driven off Garv and Garryn Bek, but Strata and Bounder (of Cairn) still fight. (Strata mentions a baby.) The Omega Men attack Maltus. In attacking Silica, they uncover the influence of Starro. His agent, Astrild Storm-Daughter, steps in. NOTE: Storm-Daughter isn't named until #5. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #3 (June 2009)
Hakk and the others are collected by the Khund Vanamon Kreel, under the Durlan Captain, Ciji. Ciji kills Sqwaul. Dox convinces Strata and Bounder to join him. In the Dominion, the Fleet Admiral of the Xylon Expanse notifies his Emperor of a spatial intrusion from Maltus. The Omega Men send a distress signal from Maltus; they're beamed up by the Psions. Ciji commands takeover of Dox's vessel. 1st app. of Starro's High Vanguard—commander Smite (named in #7), Brunt (#10), Acarinus, Blackfang, Chronar and Limina (named in Annual #1). Amon Haak joins Dox, hoping to help liberate Khundia from Starro. Dox destroys Silica in making her re-exert control over his robot soldiers; they form force fields around all client worlds. Xylon Admiral encounters a rare Lunavore which dies upon impact with Dox's force field. He uses a subspace rift to arrive on Gil'Dishpan. On Gil'Dishpan, Reefmarshall Gelmyr refuses to help Dox, then falls to Starro's troops. As the rebels flee, the Xylon Admiral ignites the planet's methane ocean. Smite overtakes the Khunds. On Voorl, Lyrl Dox reveals that Stealth is dead. The Khunds fall to Starro's metahuman army. Strata is reunited with Garv and their son, Rocky. Realizing he has no longer has a caste, the Xylon Admiral allows Ciji to dubs him "Xylon"—the first Dominator to take an individual name. He replaces his dot with a L.E.G.I.O.N. symbol. Dox sends Adam Strange after Kanjar Ro's Gamma Gong, one of 3 artifacts he needs (with others from Kalanor and the Dominion). Blackest Night: Stealth rises from the dead. She kills most of Starro's Vanguard. Lyrl gives himself over to Starro, to spare Strata and Garv. He's fitted with a star after agreeing to submit, and requests he be called Brainiac 3. Harbinger rises, attacks some Sinestros, and slices the R.E.B.E.L.S.'s ship open. Wildstar and Hakk repair the ship. Dox's Sinestro ring abandons him. On Maltus, Lyrl invents a transmatter portal. Through it, Starro's elite return to him as Black Lanterns. Lyrl teleports the BLs into a black hole. Broot's new telepathy allows him to mask the Omega Mens' presence. They find a world with clues how to kill Starro--with a toxin. The Omega Men find the poison that can defeat Starro, and hope to remake it. The Psions open their lab to Dox, who grows Despero a new body. His plan is for the Gong to hit Starro physically; the gene bomb cuts the psionic link with slaves; then Despero will finsh him. Lyrl plots against Starro, going to Smite, asking him to let Dox's plan play out. Lyrl then abducts his father to let him in on it. Lyrl teleports Starro into the REBELS' midst. Finale: The Omega Men's toxin succeeds in killing the star creature on Starro's chest, cutting him off from all his probes. Despero claims Starro for execution on Kalanor. Dox broadcasts a message announcing the reinstitution of the L.E.G.I.O.N. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #14 (May 2010)
Thanagarian pirates attack a ship carrying Starfire back to Vega. Maltus revolts against L.E.G.I.O.N., and Dox relocates to Rann. He works with Sardath to move the planet to the Vega system. Starro is saved from execution by Storm-Daughter and Smite. NOTES: Maltus is said to be in the Vega system, which was never the case. Euphorix is still encased in a shell. Dox moves Rann into Tamaran's former orbit. Comet is about to resign until he learns that Starfire has joined the L.E.G.I.O.N. Dox begins rebuilding his client base from his new HQ on Rann—whose biosphere he restores, and refugees return. Dox allies with the Thanagarians. Wing commander Shreegar Val invites Adam and Komand'r aboard. The Thanagarian Grand Mor is gone and Val insists those who remain harbor no hatred of Rann. Dox brokers deal between Tamaranians and Rannians to share Rann. The rookie GLs are ordered to keep an eye on Dox. Lyrl, implodes the LGM-1 pulsar and harnesses its power, creating Pulsar Stargrave. Lyrl aims to kill Brainiac. NOTES: Stargrave first appeared in the 30th century, Superboy #223 (Jan. 1977). Blackfire regained her powers by finding the same Psion who originally gave them to her. Part 1: Lyrl reviews the Brainiac lineage: The original was the first 12th level Coluan (most people are 8th). He cloned himself then left in pursuit of knowledge and Colu turned on Vril II (a 10th level). Coluans created an A.I. to suppress the rise of more deviants, and it became the Computer Tyrants. They handed Vril over to the Dominion but he returned with the L.E.G.I.O.N. Lyrl intends to take Colu using Stargrave, a "Solaris class macroprocessor unit." Dox returns with Brainiac to Colu as a gesture of good faith. Comet returns to Earth, to his sister Edna's grave. He left in 1955 after fighting aliens. Starfire comes to retrieve him and they have sex on the trip back. She claims that her heart will only ever belong to Dick Grayson. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #18 (Sept. 2010)
Part 2: Dox convinces Colu's ruling council to destroy their central data-core, which Lyrl wants. Brainiac blocks the command and sets off nuclear bombs, killing the council. Lyrl and Dox must ally against Brainiac. Brainiac captures Stargrave in a field. Dox teleports away to Raggashoon to enlist Lobo's help (and his red power ring). R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #19 (Oct. 2010)
Part 3: Lobo reveals he has hasn't used his red ring. Stargrave blasts him nearly in half but he heals. When Brainiac digs into Vril's mind, he finds emotions sealed away, which poisons Brainiac; he flees, taking Stargrave. Green Lanterns arrive to arrest the Doxes. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #20 (Nov. 2010)
Part 4: The G.L. Altin backs off from Lobo, whom he reveres. (Altin was exceptional, possibly Okaara's predestined War-Prodigy.) Lobo's willpower overcomes the green rings. (He agreed to serve Dox to repay the debt of the Fish God, whom he killed.) Dox's team embraces the R.E.B.E.L.S. name. As Lobo quips: Regular Everyday Bastiches Endin' Lantern Supremacy. Part 5: Gorius Karkum tells how she caught the attention of Starfire, who noticed her following behind on several worlds. Starfire agreed to help Gorius in her revenge against the Psions, for the barbaric treatment of females, kept solely for abuse and breeding. Starfire dishonored the Psion contract with L.E.G.I.O.N. and Raksas explodes the "breeding nexus." Dox terminates the contract with Psion Marshal Halor. Psions are also revealed to be cloning Czarnians. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #22 (Jan. 2011)
Part 6: Adam Strange brokers peace between L.E.G.I.O.N. and the Green Lantern Corps. Starro, Stormdaughter and Smite come to Psion to restore Starro's vigor. Dox and Lyrl use the Citadellians to create a false threat to destroy the sun. The Vegan G.L.s disarm the bomb and are granted full Lantern status. R.E.B.E.L.S. v.2 #23 (Feb. 2011)

Lyrl uses Tribulus' power to short circuit's the Starros. Smite turns, leading the L.E.G.I.ON. to Rann via teleporter. Lyrl opens a portal and they push Starro through it, where he lands in the hands of Lobo and Smite. A week later, Rann and the Tamaraneans ratify a mutual defense pact with Dox (whom Komand'r considers her consort). Lyrl teleports away, claiming to defy classifications of good or evil. L.E.G.I.O.N. is renamed as such and heed the call upon learning that Oa has gone dark. NOTE: Final issue. Events on Oa stem from Krona's takeover, in Green Lantern #64 (May 2011).
