The Floronic Man

+ History
Jason Woodrue claimed to be an extradimensional fascist who was exiled to Earth. Woodrue got a job at Gardner University, where he taught botany. He twice tried to conquer Earth with plant life, but was foiled by Atom II.
Woodrue created a serum that transformed his body into a plant form and renamed himself the Floronic Man.
Washington; Sunderland hired the Floronic Man to examine the seemingly dead body of Swamp Thing. Floronic Man discovered that Swamp Thing was not a transformed Alec Holland, as had been previously thought, but a form of plant-life that had the memories of Alec Holland. Sunderland and Floronic Man had a falling out, and Floronic Man ended up helping Swamp Thing escape Sunderland's clutches. (Saga of Swamp Thing #21)
Floronic Man followed Swamp Thing to Louisiana and used samples of Swamp Thig's body and advanced technology to hook his mind into the Green. This experience stripped away anything human about Floronic Man, and he decided to avenge the countless plants that had been destroyed by humanity. He destroyed the town of Lacroix, then ordered the world's plant population to increase its' production of oxygen tenfold in hopes of eventually making Earth's atmosphere deadly to animals. Swamp Thing reminded Floronic Man that plants and animals needed each other to exist, and with that the Green severed its' connection to Floronic Man. The Justice League of America took him into custody. (#22-24)
Floronic Man was sent to Arkham Asylum. One night the inmates started acting crazier than usual; they all sensed the demonic forces that Anton Arcane was unleashing upon Earth. (#30)
