Zauriel first encountered the League upon his decision to abandon his mantle as one of Heaven's true angels. (JLA #6, 6.97) The JLA was impressed, and later he joined them during their first major recruitment drive. (JLA: Secret Files #2, 8.98) His body was destroyed by the Injustice Gang along with the Watchtower but soon restored. (JLA #38, 41) Though he never officially resigned his membership, he drifted away from the JLA. He currently continues his Earth-bound adventuring.
