Superman's foe Maxima repented for a time to join the League (JLA #61, 4.92). Her only true goal: to make Superman her consort and rebuild her homeworld of Almerac. She worked with the League (who helped her usurp the pretender to Almerac's throne, Starbreaker) until the Day of Judgment affair. After that she joined Captain Atom's Extreme Justice team, hoping to make Captain Atom her consort. Later, she had a brief relationship with Amazing Man as he tried to teach her about Earth. Her heroic career seems to have ended with Extreme Justice, but her (reckless) search for a consort continued in earnest. Maxima died in battle against Brainiac 13 and Imperiex in Man of Steel #117.
