Personal Crises

Harry Hokum intercepts Harpis' wings after their departure from Karna and detours them to the hell planet of Sindromeda. There he deposits them into the hands of the powerful Sharduma. Harpis steals a ship from Raggashoon and intuitively follows the wings there; the Omega Men pursue. En route, Broot again questions his decisions for violent action, and Nimbus begins to fear he will succumb to his darker nature. Once on Sindromeda, Harpis is aided by the strange symbiote, the Grafalloon, which carries her to battle with Sharduma. The Grafalloon reveals how all Sindromeda's former inhabitants fell to a psychic disease which drove them mad. All their essences converged in Sharduma, who now possesses great psi powers. Amazingly, Harpis reclaims her wings from Sharduma, and even decides to save him from a death fall. Once safe, Tigorr criticizes her for saving the devil. (OMANN 1)
Harpis then leaves the Omega Men and returns to Aello. Though she reunited with Delengis and her childhood friends, she no longer felt at home. Sometime before the attack of the Spider Guild, she returns to the Omega Men, her true family. (OM 31)

Cut off from their Citadel masters, former minions have begun pirating Vegan supply lines. When two Omegan ships converge on a band of pirates, the pirates manage to destroy them both. Emboldened, the pirates then pursue a prized Omegan ship, the Ophari Princess, piloted by Syri and her robot companion, Questron. Syri is en route to the Hanasi Robotics station, where her lover, Ny, is caring for Dr. Whay, a former Citadel prisoner. The pirates ambush the Omegans at Hanasi, but Dr. Whay manages to detonate a bomb which kills the pirates, but also himself. Only Syri and Ny survive the incident. (OM 21)

The Omegans answer a call from Nimbus on the gutter world of Dredfahl. Since the Replicave incident, Tigorr and Felicity have grown closer together; he has become more docile, perhaps due to Felicity's psychic residue in his mind. Nimbus finds himself embroiled in a brawl and is forced to perform a mercy killing. This enrages the locals, and Nimbus, in shock of his actions, retreats inside his nebulous self. Primus, Doc and Broot decide to venture into his dark form to try to help. On Raggashoon, Mama Madame has a mysterious conversation in which she suggests that Harpis' memories of her "past" on that planet are false. (OM 22)
Inside Nimbus' dark form, the Omega Men encounter legions of psychic demons in the form of Branx warriors (his former hosts). These demons claim that Nimbus straddles the afterlife, wishing he could go on. Primus and the others eventually destroy all the demons and convince Nimbus to fight for his own freedom. Grateful and happy, Nimbus recommits himself to remaining with the Omega Men. His powers (besides his death-touch) now include the ability to travel the astral plane, and to use his touch to calm. (OM 23)

The Warlords of Okaara call Primus, Broot, Tigorr and Nimbus to return for a "trial of renewal" of their skills. There they all successfully complete their physical and mental tests. (OM 24)

Soon after absent-mindedly banishing Alonzo Dulak, Kalista recalls him to right that injustice. She arranges a meeting near her former summer palace. Dulak returns to Euphorix escorted by Branx warriors. Harry Hokum seizes the opportunity to order them to assassinate Kalista (Dulak taking the blame). The plot fails and when the two are alone, Dulak finally confesses his love for her. She ultimately allows him to return to Euphorix, but orders him to remain hidden, lest her subjects see she had contradicted her own law. Kalista spends that night with Dulak and orders her decrepit palace to be burned. (OM 25)

Meanwhile, Kalista's fellow Omega Men encounter a new threat to the system. The parasitic Spider Guild (who have clashed frequently with the Green Lantern Corps) have invaded Vega at Aello. The Omega Men are on Okaara choosing new new recruits from the trials which include Lonocelu of Rogue and Prince Ryand'r of Tamaran. When Aello is attacked, Pirmus names Tigorr Fleet Commander, and takes leve to Euphorix to save Kalista from the Spiders. When he arrives, she has gone; with his last efforts Dulak had forced her into a ship and locked her coordinates off-planet. There she was taken on-board by Tigorr. After Dulak breathes his last, Primus is captured by the Spiders. They recognize him as the Omegan leader and he is taken away.
Far away, on the Psion Wombworld, a being called Artin is watches everything. He sends a large spacefaring beast (a Viathan) to swallow the Spider-ship and Primus and brings them to Wombworld. When he arrives, Primus is greatly , and Artin proposes to merge his computer conscience with that of Primus. He thereby hopes to free himself from the Psions and create an Omegan Refuge for the citizens of Vega.
In light of Tigorr and Harpis' blooming relationship, Felicity leaves the Omega Men and returns to Karna. Her comrades, attempting to hold back the Spider Guild, receive the aid the Omega Men encounter Green Lantern of Sector 2828 near Raggashoon. He helps them in defiance of the Guardians' noninterference agreement. (OMANN 2)

Wombworld

Already months into the struggle agains the Spider Guild, Auron perceives another threat in the heart of the Vegan sun. En route, he travels the astral plane where he sees Gepsen and Demonia. Auron also stands in his way because Nimbus is intent on confronting his mother, X'Hal in the sun. She now threatens to detonate Vega and thereby end her life and suffering. Nimbus reasons that because his touch tainted her eons ago. He hoped she'd overcome the darkness herself, but decides that he must reclaim it from her now himself and tries to reabsorb that evil. Nimbus' attempt generates a massive shockwave which waylays the helpless Omegan craft (containing Kalista, Tigorr and Harpis and new recruits Ryand'r and Elu). Even the aid of the Green Lantern of their sector does not save them. Ryand'r (their new communications specialist) manages to contact Doc on the second moon of Tamaran. Doc tells them that all Vegan worlds have fallen to the Spiders except Tamaran. The Omegans believe that Primus, too, was captured and is on Euphorix. Elu temporarily saves their ship by burning through the floor of the engine room to drain the acid collected. In evidence of their closeness, Harpis and Tigorr refer to each other with Karnan pet names "A'Haarp" and "T'Ghurrhu." Eventually, the Green Lantern decides to relinquish his power ring's power so that he, in good conscience, can aid the Omega Men and disobey the Guardians no longer. Ultimately, the Omegan ship swalled a mammoth Viathan and taken to the Psion Wombworld. At some point, they are all anesthetized. (OM 26)

Once they arrive on Wombworld, the Psions performs secret experiments on the Omega Men and take the Green Man's power ring. Later, Artin will reveal that he tampered with those surgeries to the Omegans' benefit. As a result, Tigorr is trapped in his animal form, Kalista's powers now manifest people's desires, Ryand'r manifests heat from his hands, and Green Man (the former Green Lantern) demonstrates psychic abilities. The Green Man also reveals that his blood is a deadly nerve poison. In the Psions' control center, some begin to suspect erratice behavior from their computer, Artin. The Omega Men are released into one of Wombworld's biolinks where they encounter Piper. They agree to resucue his friend, Twilla from inside the horrible the Hroobor. The Green Man's blood disables the beast and Twilla is freed. She is Piper's symbiote: his memories give her life-energy. To return Tigorr to his humanoid form, Kalista manifests his dead wife. (OM 27)

The Omega Men climb the central shaft of the biolink to the control center. Behind the scenes, Artin secretly helps them in their escape. Ryand'r goes ahead of the others and meets Synapse of the In-Betweeners (or Tweeners). The Tweeners were broadcasters in the Vegan system. Ryand'r reveals a keen interest in Earth culture and videos. Below, his comrades barely escape the Wraith-Hounds. (OM 28)

When the Omega Men reach the Axis of Wombworld, the Green Man begins exhibiting psionic powers. They learn many Psion secrets, like the fact that the Psions are limited to taking specimens who are presumed dead. They also learn a bit more about Artin, who became self aware when the Psions' data sysstems became too complex. Now sentient, Artin wants his freedom. In the Self-Center, they witness Psions' whose forebrain sleeps as their lower brain controls motor functions. There the Green Man finds his ring, which fails to work. The Omega Men hatch a plan to secure an escape ship and Kalista manfiests Multhus, the Ultimate Psion as a diversion. Elu is captured and Psion soldiers break his formidable shield; they call him "replusive." At last, Artin makes his move; he wakes Primus and reveales them to all.
On Changralyn, Broot again defies his people by releasing them from the Spiders' cocoons. (OM 29)

The Green Man receives a vision of the battered Elu and steps through a portal directly to him. Though severely injured, Elu insists that the Green Man must not see his true form. The confusion created by Artin allows the Omega Men to escape into a Viathan. They are joined by Artin, who admits to having tempered in their favor during the Psions' operations. Artin also reveals that the Psions in fact created many Vegan races, an Okaaran legend proved. And for his coup de grace, he reveals the Psions' origin to themselves, which they are unprepared to accept. Then the Artin's Viathan departs along with the Omega Men, Vegan refugees, the Tweeners and many Psion secrets. He heads for Refuge, a secret haven which he's been preparing. Elu is placed in a healing tank. Artin also creates a new Omegan command ship. (OM 30)
